All flood victims in the nation, including those in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, would receive cash support of Rs 25,000 apiece by September 3 through the Benazir Income Support Program, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who made the announcement on Monday.The prime minister was accompanied to the relief camps by federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Murtaza Javed Abbasi, PM's advisor Engr. Amir Muqam, Qaumi Watan Party Chairman Aftab Sherpao, and Aawami National Party President Aimal Wali Khan.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, the federal government has given Sindh and Baluchistan grants of Rs. 15 billion and Rs. 10 billion, respectively, and would soon announce a special grant for flood victims in KP. According to him, 242 people died in flood-related incidents in the KP, and millions of homes were either demolished or severely damaged.
He swore that his government would keep working until every affected person was rehabilitated. The prime minister claimed that the flood victims in the camps were receiving all essential necessities, such as food, water, and medications. Shehbaz Sharif socialised with the flood victims and made affectionate gestures toward the kids in their tents. He asked them how they were doing and gave them Fateha for their loved ones who had perished in the floods.
He took note of the issues facing flood victims and gave orders to address them. On this occasion, the prime minister also gave out compensation checks to those who had been affected by the flood. The prime minister was informed about the rescue, relief, and recovery efforts taking place in Charsadda by KP Chief Secretary Dr. Shahzad Bangash and Deputy Commissioner Nowshera.
